Regularly check and promptly identify potential hazards

Appearance inspection: Check the surface of the shock absorber weekly for scratches, cracks, or deformation. For the air spring shock absorbers on vehicles, pay special attention to the rubber airbag part. If there is aging, bulging, or damage, replace it immediately to prevent air leakage from affecting the shock absorption effect.
Connection part inspection: Check whether the connecting bolts and nuts are loose monthly to ensure a firm connection. If looseness is found, tighten them according to the specified torque. For shock absorbers with a universal ball joint assembly, check whether the joint moves flexibly and there is no lag phenomenon.
Air pressure inspection: The air pressure of the air spring shock absorber is an important parameter affecting its performance. Check the air pressure every two weeks according to the requirements of the equipment or vehicle manual. If the air pressure is insufficient, replenish the gas that meets the requirements in a timely manner; if the air pressure is too high, release some air appropriately to keep the air pressure within the specified range.
Cleaning and maintenance to maintain good condition
Surface cleaning: Wash the dust and debris on the surface of the shock absorber with clean water monthly. For stains that are difficult to remove, such as oil stains, use a neutral detergent to wipe, and then rinse with clean water and dry. Be careful not to use highly corrosive detergents to avoid damaging the surface coating or rubber parts of the shock absorber.
Vent hole cleaning: Air spring shock absorbers usually have vent holes to balance the internal air pressure. Check whether the vent holes are blocked quarterly. If there are foreign objects, blow them through with compressed air to ensure smooth gas flow.

Use rationally and reduce unnecessary losses

Avoid Overloading: Air spring shock absorbers have their rated load - bearing range. During use, this range should be strictly adhered to to avoid overloading. Long - term overloading can cause the shock absorbers to deform, leak air, and shorten their service life.
Avoid Harsh Environments: Try to prevent the shock absorbers from coming into contact with corrosive substances such as strong acids and alkalis, as well as extreme environments like high and low temperatures. For vehicles driving on rough roads, the speed should be reduced to reduce the impact load on the shock absorbers.
Smooth Operation: When a vehicle starts, brakes, and turns, it should be operated smoothly. Avoid sudden acceleration, sudden braking, and sharp turns to reduce the instantaneous stress on the shock absorbers and minimize wear.
Regular performance inspection: The air spring shock absorbers should be sent to a professional institution for performance inspection every year, including items such as shock absorption effect and sealing performance. For shock absorbers on precision equipment, it is also necessary to check whether their vibration isolation efficiency meets the requirements.
Replacement of vulnerable parts: According to the usage situation and manufacturer's recommendations, regularly replace vulnerable parts such as seals and rubber pads. For example, for the air spring shock absorbers of ZF Automotive Systems (Zhangjiagang) Co., Ltd., the sealing part has a significant impact on performance. When poor sealing is found, the relevant parts should be replaced in a timely manner.
